Top New Year Resolutions
As 2022 is already here, there may be many things you may want to improve or gain this year. These could be bad habits, a want for a new lifestyle, and more! The new year is a perfect time to start on a new you. Resolutions help motivate exactly that. In case, you need something to get you started. I have a few of the top resolutions that I am going to participate in this new year!
Practicing saying no!
This is definitely not the first on everyone’s list, but it is underrated. This goes to the yes men and the those who simply can not say no. In certain situations, you will have to put yourself first and not others. I know it can be seen as selfish but this is for everyone that has been used or seen as a pushover. By learning how to gently set boundaries can improve your relationships with yourself and the people you care about.

Social Media Cleanse!
The influence of social media is everywhere and anywhere. It basically runs our world (this goes millennials too). Although social media can be fun and comedic, it does has downsides too. It can cater to laziness and become addicting. This means less time out in the real world. By cutting out just a few hours of social media, you can do so much more! Like starting a new hobby, working to better yourself, or having in-depth connections with others.

Drink More Water!
This may be the most obvious resolution, which is drinking water! Most people, including myself, drink less the two cups a day, and some do not drink water at all. This can lead to underperformance and dehydration. It is recommended that you drink eight 8-ounce (237-mL) glasses of water per day (the 8×8 rule). Water can give you benefits such as weight loss, lower blood pressure, improve bowel movements, and more!

Stop Eating Out!
If you’re anything like me who hate doing dishes, and love the convivence of quick meal. It has become a terrible habit of eating out, where I always eat fast food and restaurant food. Although, it hasn’t shown its defects at the moment. Eating out increases heart disease and stroke due to the high percentage of fat, cholesterol, and sugars. To avoid this, try to find a cookbook with a good amount of simple recipes, that only take 20 minutes or less to make.

Just drinking more water or taking the stairs instead of the elevator can help you start feeling more active. Incorporate veggies and fruits into your main meals and slow down on sugary drinks. Start doing easy exercises such as dancing, swimming, or walking around the block.
